Privacy Policy

Who we are
Vigil HSE ("Vigil", "we") provides health, safety and environment software to businesses in Canada. This policy explains how we handle personal information on this website and in our products, consistent with PIPEDA and applicable provincial privacy legislation.
What we collect on this website
- Contact and demo requests — name, work email, company, and anything you include in a message or booking.
- Usage analytics — aggregate page analytics to understand what content is useful. We do not sell visitor data or run third-party advertising trackers.
What we process in the product
Vigil customers use the platform to manage workplace safety records, which can include worker names, contact details, training records, incident involvement and — where a customer enables it — emergency contact and medical alert information. For that data, our customer is the organization responsible for the information; Vigil processes it on their instructions. Access to sensitive fields is role-restricted and individually logged.
How long we keep it
Safety records carry legal retention obligations (for example, incident and training records under provincial OHS law). Our erasure process anonymizes personal identifiers while lawfully retaining the underlying safety record where retention is required.
Your rights
- Request access to personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion, subject to the legal retention rules above.
- Withdraw marketing consent at any time — every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link that works.
Where data lives
Production data is hosted with managed cloud providers with encryption in transit and at rest. See our Security & Trust page for the full control inventory.
